| Indoor tanning lotions are specially formulated with vitamins and nutrients for your skin while tanning in UV light equipment. Indoor tanning lotions do not contain any sunscreen. Outdoor tanning lotions do contain sunscreen which will hinder your tanning process. |
| Use a moisturizer specially formulated for indoor tanning contain some of the same ingredients the tanning lotions have to continue feeding your skin what it craves. Also use a shower gel with a low Ph rating rather than a soap. Your skin will be thirsty from the inside as well as on the outside. Drinking the recommended 8 glasses a day will ensure your skin is in prime condition for tanning. |
| Try not to shower at least 2 hours before or after your tanning session. This will allow your skin's natural oils to keep itself moisturized. Your skin will continue feeding on the vitamins and nutrients in the tanning lotion you applied well after your tanning session has finished (so you want to make sure not to wash them away). |
| Make sure the surface of your skin is clean
before you start your tanning process. Skin which is clean, and moisturized
will tan faster than skin which is dirty and dry. Women should shave their
legs before starting their tanning process. You don't want to shave off
part of your tan! (Use the two hour rule for waxing and shaving) |
| Your lips and eye lids
do not have any melanin and therefore need to be protected. A lipbalm with an SPF would be a wise to put on before a tanning session and for outdoor use as well. Goggle should be worn on your eyes at all times while tanning. Some areas of you body (breasts, buttocks, and cheeks) are more sensitive than others and may need to be covered completely with a towel to filter some of the UV light for the first few tanning sessions. ** Although we provide eyewear, we advise everyone to purchase their own eyewear for sanitary purposes. |
